The first edition of AbGrad Japan (AbGradJ) 2024 will be held from December 9 to 11, 2024, at the Earth-Life Science Institute (ELSI) in Tokyo. This conference is designed for graduate students and early-career scientists working in the fields of astrobiology and space exploration.

AbGradJ provides a platform for students from across Japan to share their research, exchange ideas, and foster collaborations in the areas of astrobiology, the origin of life, and planetary science. With presentations available in both Japanese and English, the conference encourages participation from a diverse group of students, irrespective of language barriers.

The aim of AbGradJ is to establish a next-generation astrobiology community by bringing together students and early-career scientists with a shared interest in astrobiology and space exploration. The conference seeks to create lasting relationships among attendees, promoting future collaborations both within Japan and internationally.

This initiative was born in 2022 at the Earth-Life Science Institute, sparked by the need for students in Japan to connect, network, and engage with others studying these fields. AbGradJ offers a unique opportunity to build a cohesive community of future leaders in astrobiology.

Key Features:

– Presentations and discussions in both Japanese and English.

– Free admission for all participants.

– Opportunities for students and early-career researchers to share their work and engage with peers.

– A focus on building long-term collaborations and networks within the astrobiology community.
