The students and teachers of Fujiawa Shoryo High School visited ELSI as a part of the ‘ELSI School Outreach Programme ’ on 28 August. The students were given an opportunity to experience the ‘research environment’ at ELSI through a guided tour of the facilities.

The tour was followed by a lecture on ‘Reconstructing Martian environment by laboratory experiments to explore habitability beyond Earth’ by ELSI’s Research Scientist Natsumi Noda , which was held in the Mishima Hall.

A total of 12 students and teachers joined the programme. ‘I could see the place where experiments are carried out’ ‘It was interesting to learn specifically what kind of research is being done’ were amongst the comments of students.
