Therefore, the next challenge is to ask whether it would be possible to reconstruct cells from these components. The question \u201cHow do we create living cells?\u201d can only be addressed by creating them.\r\nOur group aims to create various molecular systems using the cellular components, including proteins, lipids and nucleic acids. Ultimately, we wish to create self-replicating systems that can sustain themselves, and to uncover the recipe of life. At the same time, we aim to create various molecular systems surpassing nature that can be implemented in various biotechnology applications.
