Research Interests

My research interests are in microbial metabolism, and I have been engaged in the elucidation of unknown metabolic pathways and the application of biocatalysts and biomolecules. My studies on carbon/nitrogen central metabolism employ organisms belonging to a deep branch in the evolutionary tree in order to elucidate the metabolic mechanism in primitive life and its evolutionary processes.
